Used Antenna Positioner Tower 2071-2 ETS-Lindgren.
The ETS-Lindgren Model 2070-1, 2070-2 and 2071 antenna towers are portable mast and platform systems designed for use in EMI compliance testing at elevations from one to six meters above the ground level. The mast, carrier, boom, platform, drive belts and guying system are non-conductive and non-magnetic. The antenna carrier is raised and lowered by a fractional horsepower electric motor with a gear reducer and electric brake. The electronics are contained in a shielded enclosure and the unit receives signals via fiber-optic cables. The electric drive unit is located at the base of the tower.
The mast sections of the tower are constructed of square fiberglass tubing for strength, rigidity and weatherability. The mast consists of three or four sections, depending on whether a four or six meter height is desired (refer to assembly instructions.) Mylar rope guy lines are provided for outdoor installations and must be firmly anchored to provide vertical stability. The carrier is made of non-metallic material, primarily nylon and delrin.
The motor system drives the carrier up and down using a polyurethane Kevlar reinforced timing belt. Rollers on the carrier provide friction-free, smooth travel. The motor typically positions the carrier within two centimeters of the desired location. To prevent over-travel in either direction of movement, the mechanical limits can be set with dual knobs located outside the motor cover. Soft limits can be set within the mechanical limits using the Model 2090 Positioning Controller.
ETS-Lindgren’s Model 2070-1, 2070-2 and 2071 antenna towers are identical in their rugged construction, toothed belt drives and important safety features. The units are differentiated by features that configure the carrier and boom.
The Model 2070-1 is manually polarized. The Model 2070-2 and 2071 feature centerline air polarization, which enhances measurement accuracy. In addition, the Model 2071 features ETS-Lindgren’s patented Bore Sight system that provides direct antenna aim onto and EUT during scanning.

The 3301C Active Monopole Antenna is designed to provide reception of an electric field throughout its frequency range, in a single band, without tuning or bandswitching. The 3301C Active Monopole Antenna factor 3 dB roll-off points are at 170 Hz and 30 MHz. Between 250 Hz and 20 MHz, the antenna factor is flat within +/- 1 dB. To prevent saturation by the low frequency signals, the lower 3 dB point is switch-selectable at 170 Hz, 1.9 kHz or 22 kHz. The 3301C is able to sense fields of +7 dB (uV/m) at 1 MHz with a 1 kHz bandwidth. Saturation will not occur below a field strength of 0.8 V/m, resulting in an extremely wide dynamic range to 141 dB. The saturation indicator alerts you of the need to use the internal attenuators.
The model 3301C antenna consists of an stainless steel rod, a counterpoise 61 cm x 61 cm (24 in x 24 in), a broadband high input impedance amplifier built into the base, and an AC power adapter for battery charging (nominal 90 to 265 VAC, 50/60 Hz). The front panel contains controls and indicators include a power switch and power-on indicator, a receptacle and indicator for the battery charger, a grounded female BNC output connector and a signal saturation indicator. Power is supplied by internal AA size rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries.

The ETS-Lindgren Model 3104B BiConLogTM high-field antenna in the bow tie/log periodic family, providing the highest field-to-power ratio at low frequencies of any of the BiConiLog antennas. The Model 3140B is designed specifically to generate the field levels required for immunity/susceptibility tests required by standards such as IEC/EN 61000-4-3 using the lowest amount of input power possible.
A BiConiLog antenna combines a broadband biconical-like bow tie antenna with a standard log periodic dipole array (LPDA) to replace the traditional use of two antennas in the 26 MHz to 3000 MHz electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test frequency range. Many EMC antennas are variations of a standard tuned dipole, which must be nearly half a wavelength long to transmit or receive energy most efficiently; at 26 MHz, a tuned dipole would have to be approximately 5.3 meters long, 4.6 meters long at 30 MHz, and 2.8 meters long at 50 MHz. This is unwieldy for many anechoic chambers and test sites. The end plates of the Model 3140B T bow ties make the bow tie antenna segment look like an antenna twice as long as the actual 1.6 meter length. The result is about a 10 dB improvement in low frequency transmit gain compared to a regular bow tie of the same length.

Model 3117 Double-ridged Waveguide is a the latest addition to a family of double ridge waveguide horns for microwave and EMC measurement from ETS-Lindgren. This model corrects the lower gain at the upper end of the frequency range, commonly found in ridged waveguide antennas.

The Electro-Mechanics Company (EMCO) Model 1070 Antenna Positioning Tower is a
portable mast and platform system designed for use in EMI compliance testing at elevations from 0.5
to 6 meters above ground level. The mast, carrier, boom, platform, lift rope, and guying system are
non-conductive and non-magnetic. The antenna carrier is raised and lowered by a fractional
horsepower electric motor, gear reduction system, and an electric brake located on the motor base
assembly at the base of the system. In addition, a mechanical safety brake installed on the antenna
carrier operates automatically to prevent the carrier from falling.
The mast section of the tower is constructed of square fiberglass tubing for strength and rigidity .
The assembled mast consists of three or four sections, depending on whether a 4 or 6-meter height
of the mast is desired. A 4-meter height is attained by using the base section, one center section,
and the top section. A 6-meter height is attained by use of two center sections along with the base
and top sections. Mylar (low stretch) guy lines attach to the top section of the mast MUST be
firmly anchored to the ground to provide safe, adequate vertical stability.
Rollers built into the carrier assembly section allow smooth motion when carrying antenna loads of
up to 75 lbs. The vertical drive mechanism consists of the drive motor, a gear reduction system,
and an electric brake which stops the vertical motion typically within 2 centimeters of the desired
location. The motor drive system winds and unwinds a rope onto a guided take-up cylinder.
To prevent overrunning of the high and low limits of the mast assembly, the absolute upper and
lower limits of operation must be set by using the dual cam mechanism in the motor enclosure.
Within the mechanical limits set above, maximum and minimum antenna height positions can be entered into the EMCO Model 1090 Positioning Controller.
